Before your child’s first tooth arises, wipe the gums off after each feeding with a warm, wet washcloth or a dampened piece of gauze wrapped around your finger. This will help keep them free of decay and allow for proper spacing when the teeth begin to emerge. You should continue to do this until your child is old enough to hold a toothbrush themselves.
